Class is a big social element and factor of a target audience, we aimed to create our OTS for a C1-C2 bracket on the social scale, and after the production, we watched through our OTS and decided we had achieved our goal. We think it would be most suitable to these people because they are more likely to be open minded, have enough money for cinema trips and be able to relate to, or idolise the characters. By using modern technology such as social networking my partner's research allowed us to get a more accurate idea as to the class of our target audience. |
We wanted our main location, for the 'present day' shots to be something that has a quite authentic, old fashioned and tasteful feel, adding a sense of escapism to our OTS. Luckily, through knowing people we managed to use a bar that belong to a sailing club in Wells-next-the-sea, it worked perfectly as it held a sense of class due to the antique look about it, giving it a traditional, homely feel, especially with the fire.
Although the clubhouse had some modern, ill-fitting features we managed to hide them in all our shots to avoid breaking the image.
Each of our characters represents its own social group or community, all with sensitive tires of oppressing forces. Our strong is entirely based on our three main characters; Vee, Champ and Butch, gaining revenge on the mafia 'king pin' and antagonist for things he has done to them individually. For example Vee is a positive representation of women, sporting a strong independence and growth in character from a conforming housewife, it is a very heroic role and puts Vee in the spotlight as a brave confident character.
The character of Champ is a stereotypical punk teenager with a deep emotional twist, from the body language we have chosen to show, portrays Champ with very hunched, closed, moody body language, typical of a teenager. His costume is strongly stereotypical for his character, heavy black clothing and piercings. This is also a reason why we cast Flynn Staples. Butch is shown as a stereotypical business man, there are a series of quick shots of legal papers being thrown down and money being shown. These objects act as signifiers as to his role in life. He also wears a suit, which an audience relates to business and work. |
